Hello! Welcome to Christ Church, we extend a warm welcome to those curious about church life and who want to find out more about our church.
Every Sunday morning there are two services, Parish Eucharist (Holy Communion) which is held at 9 am and our All Age Worship commences at 10.30 am. When you arrive at church, you will be greeted by a friendly Sidesperson, who will give you all you need for the service but if you have any other requirements, please let them know and they will be happy to assist you.
In between both services, and after our second service, you are welcome to join us for tea and coffee with a biscuit and a chat. Tea and coffee (and the biscuits!) are free, although you are welcome to make a donation if you wish, but there is absolutely no pressure to do so. Staying for refreshments is an excellent way to get to know people within our church community or simply just to get your bearings and sit quietly in God’s company for a while.
We hold regular Parish Eucharist (Holy Communion) and All Age Worship every Sunday and throughout the year there are various additional services, such as Morning Prayers, special Lent, Easter, Harvest, Advent and Christmas services which celebrate the important occasions within the Church of England calendar.
Christ Church is a friendly place and you are always welcome to become more involved in helping our Sunday services and extra activities by volunteering to help as part of our team of willing hands. Please click here if you’d like to join us in this capacity.
Christ Church isn’t only about worshipping God through formal services and prayer. We offer a range of other ministries that you are welcome to join, even before you decide to become a part of our Christ Church community. Activities such as Men’s Group, Ladies UpLIFT Group, various Bible studies groups throughout the year, community focussed events such as Soup Lunches, Family Fun Days and events for all the village to enjoy.
Christ Church has strong links with other organisations within Willaston, especially Willaston C of E Primary School. More information on how schools within the Diocese of Chester are supported to become deeply Christian communities can be found on the Chester Diocesan Board of Education website. Our church is also supportive of local businesses and initiatives, and Christ Church holds regular events involving the whole village, such as Carols on The Green at Christmas. Christ Church also welcomes you for baptisms, weddings, and celebrations of life.
Here at Christ Church, our message is very simple. Come and join us and learn to be a Christian within our community. That means being part of the wider network of village life and supporting them with Christian values and having an impact on those within the community who haven’t yet heard or experienced what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
When you consider it, Christ Church is there for you at the beginning to baptise you and will support you through the joys and sorrows, triumphs and tribulations of life leading to your eventual return to Jesus in the form of your celebration of life as you depart this world to join the next.
So, we think Christ Church is an important part of your community, your life and your hope for the future. Jesus once asked his followers, “Who do you say I am?” and Christ Church is where you will be able to find the answer to this question, and many others.
