We want Christ Church to play a part in helping you live out your Christian faith as effectively as possible. Being a Christian within our own community is a strongly upheld value at Christ Church, which is why we positively encourage our congregation to fully integrate with village life and support the wider community
For most Christians, coming to church to worship is an important part of their lives and in this respect, we positively encourage our congregation to fully integrate with village life and support the wider community of Willaston through their faith and beliefs and in turn, we hope that residents of Willaston will join us and discover the power of Faith at Christ Church.
We want to support our community in life and be there for them when things are said and done which are wrong. We are there to guide you to forgiveness and grace through the teachings of God and Jesus Christ, our Lord. Not for nothing is there a line from The Lord’s Prayer which says, ‘Forgive us our sins.’ One of the basic Christian values is forgiveness. Do not feel alone, Christ Church is here for you to help you through times when you need to seek comfort and solace in Christ.
We are here, too, to celebrate with you in happy times. Whether it be a baptism, a wedding, a renewal of vows, or if you simply want to come to church to give thanks for each new day and the opportunities it presents to serve God and your community. Worship is something to do with a glad heart and at Christ Church we aim to make our sermons and teachings fun and relatable in today’s often confusing world.
At Christ Church, our mission is to empower individuals and families to grow in their faith and become active members of both our Christian community and the wider village community. We strive to love God, love people, and make a difference in the world.
At Christ Church we actively seek to support environmental projects for the benefit of the wider village community. In becoming a supporter of Eco Church, we can have a positive impact on caring for God's earth within our village. We welcome input from local residents and businesses that will help us build an environmentally friendly space through locally based initiatives. Please contact Revd Gordon with any ideas or suggestions you may have .
Willaston Memorial Hall is one of our neighbours, and we actively support their community initiative of holding Soup Lunches for local residents throughout the winter months. Soup, dessert and a tea or coffee are served at very reasonable prices and various members of the Willaston community, including Christ Church host each lunch through Oct - March each year.
Christ Church welcomes members of the congregation and the wider community to join Fr Lyndon in quiet reflection during Advent and Lent. These half hour sessions held of an evening offer quiet prayers and a greater understanding of the celebrations leading up to Christmas and Easter. Click the image to visit our What's on page.
Christ Church has strong links with the local Church of England Primary School. Revd Gordon regularly visits the school to deliver talks and the children are welcomed into the church for lessons, prayers, or to take part in services throughout the year. As we move forward, Christ Church is keen to be involved in community projects, thus enabling Christ's message to be spread beyond the reach of our congregation. We see the Church as a way of the village connecting with God on a day to day level and our hope is that the residents and businesses within Willaston join us in faith and hope for the future.
