At Christ Church, we are always conscious that sometimes, people need a helping hand with the cost of living affecting people's ability to feed their families. We ask our congregation and the wider community to donate non-perishable food, nappies, toiletries, pet food to the church and we ensure it gets to the West Cheshire Foodbank at Neston.
At many of our events and social gatherings, there is always some food or gifts leftover. These get donated to Wirral Ark, which is a Homelessness Project working throughout Wirral. Whilst most of us are safe and sound in our own homes, others are less fortunate and if it were not for charities and organisations like Wirral Ark and the Whitechapel Project in Liverpool, some people would be 'living' on the streets. Every donation, however small, or whatever it might be adds hope and happiness to someone who doesn't have the security of a roof.
As a Church of England School, Willaston C of E Primary School has close links with Christ Church. Staff and pupils visit church regularly for services and other events. Christ Church endeavours to support the school through working with them to raise funds, raise awareness of the link between church and school, and jointly to ensure there is a safe, happy, inclusive and Christian atmosphere for pupils.
Our new community hub will be available for hire for private functions, business events, and community events. We will, of course, have to close the church whilst our re-ordering is taking place, but we have plenty of events at other locations planned for 2024 and there will be a full calendar of monthly events that will continue our fundraising for church, school and charitable causes throughout 2025. Enquires are now being taken by our Bookings Secretary on 07535 363988 for hires from late Spring, 2025.
Come and find out what it's all about! The church is open on a Monday morning, after Morning Prayers at 9.00am, and on a Saturday morning from 10am till 12pm for you to drop in, meet us, have a coffee and maybe even get involved in our mission! It's not all about preaching and pulpits, sermons and solemnity - we are a vibrant, happy congregation of ordinary people who want to do extraordinary things for both church and community! In getting involved with us, you are getting involved with enhancing village life and strengthening the community ethos of the village of Willaston!
Support our church's mission and ministry by giving financially. Your donations help us make a difference in our community and beyond. Give today, and be a part of something meaningful. Some of our fundraising events aim to not only raise money for the church, but also for our community partners, such as Willaston C of E School, village life, Willaston meadow, eco-church and the environment, and much, much more! By giving to us, you give to the village and help protect and preserve the village life for many years to come.
The main hall in our Community Hub will offer a large meeting space, AV facilities, underfloor heating, flexible seating and refreshment space for up to 160 people. Our Smaller Meeting Room is ideal for smaller gatherings of up to 25. If you'd like to hold a community event, meeting, a private function, business conference, come to Christ Church and find out what we can offer! Contact our Bookings Secretary on 07535 363988 for details.
